7 years ago. And still Jim is often thought of. I benefited from his strength, humor and understanding. He is missed by me and many.

My favorite college professor, I still think of him almost 50 years later particularly his "Behavior Control In Society" course! You are fondly remembered RIP

To Pam and Jim's children:
I had no idea that Jim died last year. He left a lasting impact on all of the undergraduate and graduate students in the psychology department. I still teach "selection by consequences" in my Systematic class at both Bethany College and Wheeling Jesuit. Jim wrote me a letter of recommendation to graduate school and defended me on numerous occasions. I only partly returned the favor by filling in for him in the classroom on occasion between 1994 and 1998. I will miss him.

Pam and family,
I was saddened to read of the passing of my professor and friend Jim. I hope you are taking comfort in special memories and the love you shared for and with him.
Lee told me when the visitation times are. I was planning to come, but now I see the times are during our Sabbath observance. Circumstances notwithstanding, I would love to see you, Jonathan, Julia, and the rest of your families. I am sorry we had to cancel our last plans due to inclement weather.
I hope we can be in contact when you are ready. Meanwhile, please find comfort for yourselves, as you and Jim surely cultivated many sources of support.
To better days, with fondness,
Carri and Lee Golden

I was saddened by the news of Jim's passing. He was a man of deep moral fiber, an amazing intellect, and a heck of a decent guy. Normally it is hard to find even two of those characteristics in one person. The world was richer for his time with us.

To my dear sister Pam, the Holland siblings and extended family I send my deepest sorrow for your loss.
Jim had an amazing life and you (we all) are so very fortunate to have shared it with such a wonderful person. We can honor him by sharing the amazing things he taught us and by talking about the experiences we shared with him. May those memories give you comfort in the future.
With all my love,

Pam,
I am so sorry for your loss. I remember when you two were visiting Longboat Key and we all met at Rita and Murray's. I interviewed Jim and Murray, and then Jim by himself. What an amazing man he was! It was so much fun getting to know you and Jim a little during the process.
Please take care of yourself, and I will try to contact you soon. - Karen

Jim Holland was a champion supporter of faculty and staff at the University of Pittsburgh. I will always remember the help and encouragement he gave me and many other faculty via his service in the faculty Senate. He left big shoes for his senate successors to fill; his legacy will live on and he will be missed by all that knew him.
