Dr. Howell was an amazing doctor and person. He did surgery on my husband's ears, that helped him to hear for the first time in years! We will always be grateful to him for his help.
Sorry for your loss and God Bless your Family.

My deepest sympathy in the loss of your dear father/grandfather. My late husband and I knew Dr. Howell and his wonderful wife Marlene at the UU Church in Brockton for many years. But Dr. Howell also was Bob's doctor for several years. He Was an amazing person. Wishing you comfort in your special memories. Betty Gilson

Both Jim and Marlene Howell were incredible , compassionate and wonderful persons. I had the great privilege of serving as Minister of First Church, West Bridgewater from 1983-1992. Marlene was our Director of Music and never accepted anything for her wonderful services. Jim served as Chairman of the Board of Deacons and on other committees. Both were always supportive of both me and the ministry of the church. But they also found time to raise 4 wonderful children .. two boys and two girls. To have them part of our youth group was delightful .
Both Marlene and Jim were also actively involved in many activities in West Bridgewater and beyond as noted above.
In my many years in the ministry I have met many wonderful people . In conclusion I can say that none surpassed the dedication of these two individuals.
They were faithful servants of God and His children. My condolences go out to their children and grandchildren. They are now with God and as the 23rd Psalm says
" they will dwell in the house of the Lord forever"

Dear Ann, Jim, Katie and Andrew,
Howard Street will not be the same without your mom and dad and all of you running around and all of us (the Carriere family) with all of you. We have many fond memories of being with you all, your dad and mom and we will miss them both. So sorry for your loss.

We remember Jim, Marlene and their beautiful family, including, dogs, cats and sheep with great fondness. They welcomed us to the small town of West Bridgewater with open arms and bade us farewell with strong, warm embraces. Jim even smuggled a horse radish root into our moving van. It flourished in our fertile Illinois soil. We were political allies, fellow art lovers and shared a passion for the people and place of West Bridgewater. RIP Jim (aka the Squire) and Marlene. Our deepest sympathies to Ann, Jim, Kate, and Andrew.
