It´s been a little over a year without you, yet it feels like a lifetime of emptiness. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and not a day goes by that we don´t feel your absence. We love and miss you dearly, Jim.

Hi. I just came across this obituary and was saddened. I was Jim's roommate at Buffalo State in 67 or 68. We completely lost contact over the years, but I fondly remember Jim and recognize his photo. I remember hid dad was a park policeman, his favorite saying was "You sly fox" and he would never wear jeans and gave me a hard time for doing so because "Jeans were for farmers" Oddly enough, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's last year. If someone in the family finds these remarks and would like to make contact my name is Ed Eidelman.Reachable at [email protected]

Mr. Hyla was a very kind, thoughtful man. I was privileged to be one of his hospice nurses. I always looked forward to talking with him about his life and knowledge ( he knew so much about fishing lures). My deepest sympathy to his wife, family and friends.

* All my sympathy and love. Jim was more than just the person in charge at work, but a friend. So losing him must be so sad. I am deeply sorry and hope you are able to find some solace from knowing how much he meant to all his family and friends. May his legacy be the incredible family left behind, and the success of life and career. My condolences

Jim was a great boss, mentor and friend. Jim went out of his way to provide leadership opportunities to the younger staff that made you feel empowered. I spent many years working with Jim and have great memories driving 5 hours to Cape Coral fir meetings, then driving back that same day. You learn alot about friends when you spend a day in the car for many weeks, months, years. Jim was the best. Every time I drive south, I am reminded of those journeys and the many stories and memories we created. My blessings to Linda and the family. Love you all.

You will be so dearly missed. But, your kind (and sometimes mischievous) spirit will never be forgotten. Thank you for all the great memories. Love Renee
