IRONSIDE, James Jackson (Jim)
January 22, 1926 - May 24, 2016
Born in Whitley Bay, England, Jim passed away suddenly, but peacefully at home in his 91st year. Predeceased by his wife Claire Anne in 2008, he is survived by his loving family, daughters Andrea Anne Ironside (Chris Lundy), and Cybele Claire Ironside, granddaughters Georgia Ironside Lundy, Sarah Ironside Lundy, his caregivers Rose Marie Dable and Arlene Jamelarin. As a general surgeon for over 30 years, Jim retired in 1986 as a physician and began a life of pleasure and non-medical learning. Being an avid Sailor, he will also be remembered for his wisdom, honesty, and dedication to the Truth. Jim was a man who always reached and never gave up. A memorial service celebrating Jim will be held Sunday, June 12 at 6 p.m. at Brock House, 3875 Point Grey Road, Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations to Amnesty International or PETA would be appreciated.

Darling Jim. I will miss you very much but the memories will last forever - Bowen walks, seabus rides, turkey full of buckshot, Italian lessons, lunches to speak Italian in a Polish restaurant, the retreat to help you and Anne decide your future, corn tastings, missed ferries, and dinner with friends.
