James Richard Jeffers Sr.

James Richard Jeffers, Sr. born Feb. 3, 1942, went to be with his Lord, Nov. 12, 2014. He was a native of Vicksburg, MS and a resident of Watson, LA. A builder by trade, he was the co-owner of K & J Builders, Inc with is son, Kenny. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dianna Daniel Jeffers; two sons, James "Jimmy" Jeffers, Jr. and wife, Julie Hano Jeffers, Kenneth "Kenny" Jeffers, and wife, Kara Sistrunk Jeffers; two wonderful granddaughters, Christian Jeffers Fasola and husband, Chuck, and Raelyn Jeffers; one awesome grandson, James "J.J." Jeffers, III. He was also blessed with two beautiful great-granddaughters, Londyn and Lawsyn Fasola; one sister, Arlene Hebert and husband, Wilton; one brother, Frank Jeffers and wife, Kitty; two step-brothers, James and J.C. Edwards and wives, Barbara and Helen. Also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Juanita Daniel, Larry and Sandra Dudley, Buddy and Barbara Daniel; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph "Pat" Jeffers; mother, Mamie Edwards; step-father, James Edwards; one sister, Louise Crawford; and one brother, Vernon Jeffers. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and loved playing his guitar. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of Life Tabernacle Church, Baton Rouge. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Friday, Nov. 14, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at Life Tabernacle Church, Baton Rouge, Saturday, Nov. 15, from 10 a.m. until service at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.
