Such an elegant and dapper Gentleman. Definitely the classiest cousin I ever had bar none.

Tonight I learned of Jim`s passing. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. I knew Jim and Carol for a few years in the 1980s in connection with his business interests in Kentucky. He was unfailingly kind and professional. I can attest to his interest and fondness for fine wine, as relayed by one of the other posts to his memory. I will relay one anecdote. On one occasion, when we were having lunch at a Chinese restaurant in Huntington, his hometown, he said that eating Chinese food was just an excuse to drink beer! I remember that every time I eat Chinese food.

I never had the opportunity to meet his sons, but he (and Carol) always expressed how proud he was of them.

The last time I spoke to him, many years ago, he was already living in Colorado and sounded like he was enjoying life to the fullest, as I would´ve expected.

Jim and I knew each other through a meditation group in Boulder CO. Jim was always genuine and authentic and shared many insights and wisdom with our class over the years. We personally shared a love of travel and compared notes having both lived in our camper vans for a time being. I love your tribute of him in his obituary. I already saw Jim as a sweet, caring, compassionate, well travelled, wise human with diverse interests and it was fun to learn that what I knew of him was only the tip of the iceberg. He had tremendous strength and a positive attitude with multiple health issues he faced after his bad bike accident and was a teacher to me in many ways, but especially in facing times of adversity. I am so sorry to learn of his battle with cancer and am so happy to learn he was surrounded by his loving family and best friend in his final days. Heartfelt condolences to you all. He will be missed by many and remain alive in many of our hearts!

I met Jim about 12 years ago in our dedicated practitioners´ meditation group. He was so very kind and so easy to talk with. When I had eye problems he found me a wonderful doctor who enabled me to read again! I will forever be grateful for his care and kindness.

Hearing with great sadness of Jim's passing. David Frischkorn, Jim's cousin, is my oldest and closest friend. When we both graduated college we ended up in NYC and Jim and David lived in the same apartment building. Jim was Hemingwayesque figure and one whom I looked up to from the start (the age gap - 5 years - made him ancient). Fresh from a safari in Africa his apartment featured impala heads and a lion skin rug. His apartment was tastefully and professionally decorated, something that I would aspire too later on. Throughout his years in the city Jim's hobbies and mine intersected. He became a big fan of burgundy wines and I introduced him to the Tastevin. He always studied his interests deeply. He became very wine savvy. I spent time in the Hamptons, year round, on weekends. Jim and Carol bought a house there in an area that eventually became the most sought after. Later, when I had purchased Colt, I ran into Jim at the NRA show (by that time he had moved to Albuquerque). He and Carol had taken up pistol shooting in earnest. These are small anecdotes and I could offer many more. Just a peak at how Jim influenced me and how his kindness and friendship endeared him to so many. To his family, my sincerest condolences, to Jim, may you rest in peace. DZ
