James Johnson

James "Jim" Johnson, of Patchogue, NY, passed away at his home in Fairport, NY on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

Jim was born on 11/10/53 in Patchogue, NY to Robert and Doris. Jim's older brother, Bob, (deceased) was his only sibling, but he considered his sister-in-law "Linda" to be just like a sister.

Jim grew up in Patchogue, Long Island, attended Patchogue-Medford High (Class of '72) and settled in Rochester after attending SUNY Brockport.

After graduating from SUNY Brockport, Jim went on to work at Lawyer's Coop ("LC") in Rochester as a Credit Analyst. Throughout his career at LC, Marine Midland Bank, & LeChase Construction, he made many friends. Late in his working life, Jim found his calling, becoming certified as an Addiction Counsellor, eventually working at FLACRA where he helped many to recover from the wrath of addiction.

As a Friend of Bill, Jim made countless friends; too many to name here. Some of those friends were truly like family.

Jim loved attending concerts, live comedy, and festivals, often with friends.

To know Jim was to know a fun loving, kind man, but also a generous, and principled person who would go out of his way to help those in need. He was a patriotic Democrat, yet was able to have friends with whom he disagreed politically. Jim had 2 cats, "Bill" and "Lois", who he took great care of, and who provided him w/ companionship.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held at a date and time, TBD. See Facebook for announcement. Jim will be tagged. All who knew and loved Jim are welcome.

Jim leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the many lives he has touched. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
