No matter how much time passed, sometimes years, I could walk in the font door of Mr. and Mrs, Kardos' home without knocking and unannounced. Still can. They are my family not by blood, but through a lifetime of love and deep friendship. I will always remember Mr. Kardos ( to this day as I approach 60, I still feel uncomfortable calling him Jim) as WWII hero, a completely devoted husband and father, a hard worker and a cherished role model in my life. Mr. Kardos was like a second father to me after I lost my own. His home was mine too and his are sons like my brothers. We will all miss him but take solace in knowing his life was full and long and the wonderful wife and family he leaves behind is a testament.
All my love, Buddy
