Jim was truly an inspirational and caring mentor. His company hired me as an intern and then directly out of college for my first job. He always took the time to ask me questions and inquire as to how my family and I were doing. He will be missed.

Jim was not only an outstanding engineer and consultant, but an outstanding man as well. Also a friend that I had a great respect for. In my 42 years as a planner for the City of Greenwood I had the privilege of meeting and working with many good consultants and other professionals. Jim Klausmeier would be at the top of list. His impact will continue on through those whom he worked with, worked for, and mentored throughout his career. God's blessings to his family.

Jim was one of the best engineers, leaders, and people I knew. He introduced me to engineering as a young boy, and I am forever grateful. He also had the best seats for Cincinnati Reds games! I was lucky Jim took a chance on hiring me, and I got to learn from him and his great team. Jim's leadership and interpersonal skills were real and genuine and he made an impact on so many. RIP Jim.

Condolences to Linda and family on Jim's passing. I am so blessed, honored, thankful, and grateful for the man who mentored me during the formative years of my career. I considered him my work "father", and he will always have a special place in my heart. Jim was a knowledgeable, thoughtful, insightful person who excelled at finding a way to make things happen and build consensus in both the career and personal realm. He taught me how to get the most out of life, how to mix the "funny" with the "serious", and the importance of work-life balance. RIP, JPK, and congratulations on a life well-lived and a job well-done.

I have known Jim for approximately 40 year, and I can honestly say he was the most highly respected engineers on my list of consultants during my 50 years of engineering experience. Jim didn't like to be called "boss", he basically was saying lets roll up our sleeves and work together to solve this engineering problem. I have very fond memories working with Jim on various projects, and the same is true on the golf course. Simply a brilliant man with the highest integrity that our industry will miss. Ron Greiwe

Living next door to Jim I would see him outside Sitting on the ground or later on sitting on a stool pulling weeds. He always wanted to participate with the upkeep of our shared garden. Even as the Parkinson's progressed he would still try to get out there and try to take care of things even to the extent that one time he could not get back up without my help. He just kept trying.
