James Klein Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 16, 2020.
James Michael Klein, age 73, passed away April 12, 2020 peacefully at home surrounded by family in Irvine, California after a year long fight from pancreatic cancer. He was born in Portland, Oregon where his mom (Frances), dad (John) and older brother (Dennis) lived. After attending Oregon State University for a year, he was drafted by the Navy. Honorably discharged, he became an alumnus of Fresno State and taught typing classes. The Insurance Business called and Jim answered. His talent as a broker resulted in Jim owning, James Klein Insurance, one of the top entertainment insurance businesses for over 35 years. Jim raised a family of three, Jonathan (36), Kelliann (34) and Nicholas (28) with wife Vicki in Newport Beach. He was on the school and church boards at Our Lady Queen of Angels. As a dad, Jim was very involved. He was committed to ALL his children's activities. His appreciation for music, horse racing, travel, laundromats and a "good deal" will forever live on through his children, Vegas/T6/Ride or Die Crew, his girlfriend, Angela, and the president of his company, Pam Davis. Due to COVID-19, there will be a celebration of Jim's life after the quarantine. Rest in peace Jim. Heaven has gained another angel.

I still feel your spirit. Especially triggered when I drive by a place where your dad anchored the boat-Rooster Rock, in Lake Oswego walking distance from where I have lived since 1972 and others. Or when I hear an Elvis song. Or Leonard Cohen. Know Isla James is getting to know you through pictures and shared family memories. Oh how you would have loved being a grandpa!!!
Always in my heart, Mary Kay

Jake, You would have been so proud of your kids. Yesterday they hosted a Memorial for you. It was terrific! They did a wonderful job - just the way you would have liked - a happy event, looking to the future. I miss you bro! Love, CC

Two years and I still think of you so often. Little things bring back memories from our teenage years or our frequent texts while you were ill. Find you brought me comfort and made me smile too. I miss that. We understood each other and were there for each other after over 30 years. Hard to explain. But oh so special. The pandemic broke our promise to see each other again. Always in my heart. First teenage love. Trusted friend forever.

One year today. Gone in the flesh, but always here in spirit and in my heart. From first teenage love to lifelong trusted friendship. After not seeing each other for over 30 years, you reached out to me for family pictures and then for support through illness. I miss our texts where I came up with everything I could think of to bring you comfort and make you smile. We were a tie to our formative years that no one in our immediate families or present lives understood. Tragically you lost your brave battle with pancreatic cancer. But you will always be my Bond (as in James). And I will always be your Doris (as in Day) Love, Mary Kay

This is Leesa Albach i worked at James Klein Insurance in Arcadia, CA in 1988. Working for James Klein was the best experience and I loved working with Elona, Pam and James. I remember on Tues and Thur i would go watch Kelliann and Jonathan while Vicki went to study Art, amazing family.
I had the privilege of knowing your father for only a short time. A father’s hopes, dreams, and accomplishments live on his children. Your father was a great man who loved you very much, His spirit will live on in our memories. His soul was a gift to everyone who knew him and I’m sincerely sorry for your loss.
