It is at times like this that we are suddenly and unexpectedly reminded of our own mortality. Jim (who I still think of as Flash) was one of the Fearsome Foursome study group during our last few years of Pharmacy school (with Arthur, Stevie and me). We translated each other’s lecture notes and grilled each other mercilessly, but we polished off the pizzas (or was it just popcorn?) and aced the exams. Yes we surely did! What wonderful memories are flooding back after some 40 years. Flash and I shared many of the same Purdue Band experiences, and something even more precious. Jim married Marianne, and I married Bonnie on the same day in 1968. So our hearts go out to you, dear Marianne, and your family at this most difficult time. Know that the Lord will comfort you and He will continue to bless you as the memories of all the good times you two shared will one day overtake the grief.

Dear Marrianne, Melinda and family,
My heartfelt condolences to you and your family over Jim’s passing. I knew Jim briefly years ago when Marrianne introduced him to me and I liked him immediately. He had a wonderful friendly personality that made people feel comfortable around him. My sympathies to you all in your time of grief.

We had just come into contact with Mary Ann and Jim after so many years -- back to the days of Riverside and the plays and shows that Mary Ann and Pat used to be in together. What wonderful memories. I was absolutely blown away when I received the email about Jim's passing. Mary Ann had just said in one of her email that Jim had had a leg amputated which was shocking enough but we had no idea that he was seriously ill. We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. My prayers go out to you and your family. Looking back to our Riverside days with you both, I have such great memories.

I was very saddened to hear of Jim's death. I was very happy when he joined us at Rite Aid. He had a great reputation and was excellent with people. His sense of humor all helped us through many trying times. He is now up there with my former wife Carolyn. God bless them.

It was an honor to work with Jim at Rite Aid. He was the man who could turn a bad day into an good one simply by smiling and telling a joke. At the same time, he was respected for his knowledge and work ethic, ever loyal to the Corporation. Jim I will miss you - the world will be a guieter place without your infectious laugh.

Dear Marianne and Family,
I cannot find the words to express my deep sorrow. Many years ago Jim and I took a walk up the mountain one evening in Boiling Springs, and Jim expressed his sadness in losing a good friend, Danny. We looked up to the sky and the beautiful stars that evening and he told me that Danny was up there. I now have to look for the two stars up there every night and feel consolation in the fact that they have each other to share those awful jokes with. My love and sympathy to all of you.

We are so truly saddened that we will never see Jim again. We always raved about knowing this guy that won over a Rockette! Thank you, Jim, for your halarious comments, common sense and hard work, love for people, wife & family.
Thank you, God, for making it possible for Jim to be in the same dorm with John McGraw. The antics and stories will always bring a laugh. We will cherish you coming to pheasant hunt at our Goodland, IN farm and for the continual visits you and Marianne made at homecomings and especially last October.
We are not going to be able to make it out afterall.
We love you, Marianne, and would love to meet your family sometime.
Love, John & Kathy McGraw

No words can express our loss of our friend Jim. His love of life, and his love for his wife and family were exceptional. Art and Jim spent those Pharmacy years at Purdue, and our families spent time together in Chicago. When Jim & Marianne had Jimmy, and we had our first son Jeff, they looked like brothers as Jim and Artie were big guys and both had vocal sons! Although we did not see each other often, we spent a lot of time emailing each other from anything from Pharmacy news, sharing "body parts" losses, as well as political barbs. Throughout the years when we get into "strange" situations - we would say "What would Krahulec do?" ...and laugh. We were as close as our nearest telephone call or computer message. Athough we have not been together for many years, our feelings are just as intense. We will always remember Jim and say "What will Krahulec do?"

There is not enough time or space to express the gratitude for the richness that Jim has brought to my life and the lives of so many...both professionally and personally.
Jim was a true champion whose knowledge, wit and impact will be remembered always.
I will miss you.
