Jim taught my son Jake drums and made a huge impact in his life. Jake is now playing in multiple bands thanks to Jim's influence, the time and effort Jim invested in my son is priceless. Great musician, great man - we will miss Jim.

There was not a single time I interacted with Jimmy growing up that I failed to laugh in his presence. He´s one of the funniest men on earth. He´s one of those individuals that is so memorable and unmistakable. There´s no one like Jimmy. I love his family and I love having the opportunity to grow up with such great people in my life. Incredibly talented, wicked funny, smart, quick witted, warm, and kind. Dinners, holidays, and gatherings were always the best with the Lancioni´s. He´s so missed. There´s a big Jimmy shaped hole in our lives now.

I studied percussion with Mr. Lancioni for about 5 years and I always appreciated his off-beat (pun intended) sense of humor.
I was lucky to run into him the last time I was in Chelsea. I mentioned I was happy to be at my parents´ house because it meant I could play the vintage Ludwig drum kit I keep in their basement. His response was: "Good! Play `em [expletive deleted] loud! Wake up the neighbors!"
I am sure all of his former students have similar stories. We were lucky to have a musician of his caliber that was so generous with his time. People like him made Chelsea a special place to grow up. Deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Jim and I played alongside each other on many playing engagements, and I believe he thought of us as colleagues. There was no one better at doing things the way he did playing-wise! The music world is somewhat emptier in our neck of the woods, but the best memories I have of him will always live on! (Gosh, I'd give anything to still hear him warm up on timpani in his inimitable style...) Terry F.

I worked with Jim at Medstat. He was always funny no matter how tangled your computer or network problem was. Every work place needed a Jim Lancioni to lighten things up.
And he was very, very good at fixing the issues. And making you laugh at it and yourself.
He will be missed by a lot of people. My deepest condolences to Jim's family for their loss. It's a loss for our world.

Jim was one of a kind in the very best way. Once when he was working on a problem I had with my computer me he seemed to be at an impasse. I asked him if he was having a problem and he responded, "John don´t worry I´m a trained percussionist ". He always brightened my day.

My condolences to the Lancioni family. I worked with Jim back in the Medstat/Truven days and he made work fun. His Halloween costumes were legendary. May his memory be a blessing.
