James A.D. "Jimmy" Lemmon, 17, of Tower City, passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Williams Twp.
Born Feb. 28, 2005, in Pottsville, Jimmy was a senior member of the Class of 2023 at Williams Valley Jr./Sr. High School.
He had a great passion for baseball from a very young age. He played T-ball, Little League, Teener League and was a member of Williams Valley varsity baseball team. He was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Recently, Jimmy began working at Walmart in Elizabethville. He was very proud to have a job and make his own money.
Jimmy and his mom had a bond between them that was second to none. To say Melissa worshipped her boy would be a huge understatement. A typical teenage boy, Jimmy enjoyed playing video games and hanging out with his friends. He could be found at every Williams Valley sporting event in the student section, cheering on his friends. He was just that type of friend - always there for you and always encouraging you with a smile. If you were lucky enough to call Jimmy your friend, you were blessed.
He was preceded in death by his pap, Lee Nunemacher Sr., whom he loved immensely, and an uncle, Lee Nunemacher Jr.
Surviving are his mom, Melissa Nunemacher and her fiancé, Bruce Bender; his grandmother, Sharon Nunemacher; a stepsister, Camille Lemmon; two stepbrothers, Jonathan and Bruce Bender; a niece, Mercedes, who as Jimmy would say was his best buddy; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City, with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating. Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Jimmy will be laid to rest privately in St. Peter's Cemetery, Orwin. When Jimmy got his driver's license, he chose to be an organ donor. As a result of his decision, people's lives will be improved because of the remarkable young man. Please omit flowers. Donations can be made to Dimon Funeral Home Inc., 644 E. Grand Ave., Tower City, PA 17980 to help with expenses. Dimon Funeral Home & Cremation Services is honored to serve Jimmy's family. To send condolences to the family, visit www.dimonfuneralhome.com.
