LIBONATI
JAMES J.
Age 82, of Marshall Township, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2015. Loving husband of the late M. Christine Libonati; James was the proud father of Jimmy Libonati, Joe Libonati, Cindy Dumont, Johnny Libonati, and Aaron Libonati; grandfather of Nick Libonati, Julie Furman, Adam Libonati, Corey Libonati, Jamie Rhodes, Jonathan Dumont, Anthony Libonati, Erica Libonati, and Jocelyn Libonati; great-grandfather of Carson Rhodes and Chase Furman. James was always eager to discuss what it meant to be a Penn State Dad and Granddad. He joined the Marine Corps at the age of 17, fought in the Korean War in 1950-51, where he carried a Browning Automatic Rifle. James was the recipient of three Purple Hearts from wounds suffered during combat. James was a man who took the motto "God, Family, Country" very seriously and was a man of great faith. He loved working outside around the house, cutting grass, and making sure that all of his landscaping was in top shape. He will be missed dearly by everybody who surrounded him, especially the family dog, Surge. Family will welcome friends Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SCHELLHAAS & SONS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1600 Stone Mansion Drive, Sewickley, PA 15143, Franklin Park/Wexford. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Sts. John & Paul Catholic Church on Friday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. Please leave condolences at:

Aaron, I am so sorry and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of both of your parents. We were neighbors for many years on Antler Point. and we enjoyed seeing you as a baby and being a part of your 1st birthday party. My sincerest condolences to you at this difficult time God calling both of your loving parents to his house in heaven. May you take solace in knowing they are with Christ and it is through his sacrifice and God's grace we are saved , and through our faith we have hope. I have many fond memories of your parents. May God Bless and keep you close during this difficult time. Sincerely,
Carol Anderson (Austin & Doug's Mom)

I didn't know the Libonatis, but theirs must have been a beautiful love story, for James to pass mere days after he lost his bride. My deepest sympathy to the Libonati family. How fortunate you are to have had these wonderful people in your lives.
