James Lloreda Obituary
Born 10/17/1925 Died 9/1/2016
James A. Lloreda passed away peacefully at home at the age of 90 on 09/01/2016. In his later years his faithful companion and sweetheart was Mabel Mae Doyle. They met as a part of a group of senior fitness "junkies" at the Monrovia YMCA, for which Jimmy co-led both classes and events for 20 years!!
Jimmy was known for his extreme generosity in hosting family and friends in his Arcadia home with his lovely wife, Shirley by his side, producing huge meals and many special occasions until her passing.
Jimmy was known as a "character" and a tease; with ready stories of his life and adventures.
Jimmy had a colorful career at L.A. High; served in the rank of sergeant in WWII; graduated from USC with a BFS. His work included owning liquor stores and serving in management for Smart & Final.
He is survived by his daughters Lisa (Tim) Geare, Denise Lloreda; sons Richard Lloreda, Stephen (Shannon Bergeron) Lloreda; granddaughters Rebekah Geare and Stacy Geare; sisters Renee (Taylor) Gerry, Kathy (Brian) Palmer, Diane (Dan) Redler; nieces Kara (Gary) Hirsch, Barbara Tull, and their children.
