James Lutes Obituary

James A. Lutes, 66 of Stockdale, died Friday, July 24, 2015, in Kane Regional Nursing Center, McKeesport. He was born Oct. 13, 1948, in Monessen, a son of the late George C. and Lila Mae Lutes. Mr. Lutes was a 1966 graduate of Monessen High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. For 30 years, Mr. Lutes worked for Corning Glass, Charleroi, as a quality control inspector until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of the United Steel Workers of America and enjoyed traveling to Florida and rooting for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers. On May 20, 1991, he married Kay C. Elder Lutes, who died Sept. 8, 2011. Surviving are a brother, William Lutes of Charleroi; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Brysh of McKeesport and Toni Yezek of Bristol, Va.; five nephews, Chip, Jeff, Douglas, Joey and Billy; and three great-nephews, Jared, Jacob and Will. Deceased in addition to his parents and wife is a sister, Vivian Downer. Friends will be received Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, PA., where services will be held Thursday, July 30, 2015, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Max Miller officiating. Entombment will be in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora, Pa. Online guest book and personal condolences may be accessed at www.GreenleeFuneralHome.com.
