Not sure if you are still checking this site but I have just found out about Jim's passing. Golly, this is such a shock and my heartfelt condolences and sympathy go out to you and your family. This is going to be tough, Valerie, but stay strong and know that all your friends put their arms around you for comfort.

I just found out now about Jim's death.
I'm sitting in my Jeep, parked by the side of a road in the Irish countryside, tears running down my face. I've known Jim since 1976 when I joined Cansult. He was one of the best men I have ever known, we shared many, many great times together all over the world. I'm looking at the title of our last e mail between us, entitled Hennessy Paradis and other memories. That was the two of us in the George Cinq hotel in Paris circa 1981. That was only one of the many occasions we were together for business, laughter and friendship. I am bereft.
To all the Metcalfe family, I send my wife Sheena, and our two daughters, Vanessa and Seonaid, who knew and loved Jim, our deepest sympathies for your loss. He was a wonderful man, and I will miss him dearly.

Jim and I shared the same early life experiences (Aldershot Crescent, Fairmeadow PS, York Mills Collegiate Institute). We connected much later at York University's Schulich School of Business when he came to speak about work in the Middle East to members of International MBA program. He was all that previous contributors have described and more. My sincere condolences to his family. Jim's death was decidedly premature. Sue Firth

I only knew Jim for short time during my tenure at Crystal Fountains Inc. I am sadden his passing, my condolences to his family.

I grieve Jim's passing. I worked with him for thirty plus years, first during our time at Marshall Macklin Monaghan and then at Cansult. His leadership, confidence and vivour encouraged the best from all of us.

My condolences to the Metcalfe Family. I worked along side Jim for many years at MMM and we teamed together with Pat Monaghan to bring the firm out it's doldrums to be one of the leading Engineering Firms in Canada. Jim then left MMM to lead Cansult which at that time was controlled by MMM.

I am saddened to hear of his passing. He was a great leader and a great mentor.

I still hear his Good morning Greeting in my ears @ the lift in Abu Dhabi mall Office although more than 10 years pasted, it's almost impossible to forget someone like him. My condolences to the Metcalfe Family. I started my career under his leadership. An outstanding Professional who demanded the best but always gave the best. He strength of character and combination of values and morals set the path for me to follow. I will always be grateful. May God rest His Soul and May His Memory Be Eternal.

My deepest condolences to the entire Metcalfe family. We have fond memories from our days in Aurora living on Steeplechase Avenue with the Metcalfes just down the road.
