James Alan "Jim" Mick

Jim Mick, 64, of Amherst, Ohio, passed away on June 10, 2024, in Lorain, Ohio. He was born on June 11, 1959, in Amherst, Ohio, to Edna and Steve Mick.

Jim was a devoted family man who cherished his wife, Renee Mick, of 37 years, his son Trevor Mick and wife Emily, his daughter Erin (Mick) Gonzalez and husband Jake, and his two grandchildren, Gideon and Cathryn Mick. He is also survived by his brother Greg Mick (wife Donna) and sister Marilyn Pierro (husband Michael), along with many nieces and nephews.

Jim dedicated 29 years of his life to driving truck and another 13 years as a school bus driver for Amherst Exempted Village Schools. He was a member of Grow Point Church and found solace in worshipping there. He volunteered with the youth, was an usher, a greeter and was on the council throughout his life at his church. Jim was a man of faith who strived to live like Jesus, praying for God's guidance in all life decisions. He cherished his family and friends, finding great joy in creating a sanctuary in his yard for them to enjoy. He had a deep appreciation for nature and the beauty of God's creation.

In his free time, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, hiking, and biking. Jim Mick will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A life celebration in honor of Jim will be held on July 20, 2024, at Maumee Bay State Park Lodge, Oregon, Ohio from 5-9 pm. Food and beverages will be served along with great memories and desserts, around the campfire. Please dress casually.
