Billie and Family,
I was overwelmed when I heard of Jim's passing. I did not know he had passed until last night when an old friend from Denver Public Schools told me. I was overcome with sadness as Jim was a wonderful person to me. I was fortunate enough to work with Jim and another wonderful friend named Roger Meir at South High School. We had a lot of fun together. These two men took me under their wings and taught me how to clean boilers, univents, and eventually run my own building. Roger passed a few years ago and today I can see them having a beer together. Watch out you two,,,,tomorrow will be a 'bad burrito' day for you both. I am happy they are both in a better place. I'm so sorry Billie. My heart goes out to you and your family.

I did not know James, but I do know that he created and raised somebody I admire and am proud to call my friend. My wife and I send our condolences to all the family and friends. and we wish quick, positive healing.

I did not know James personaly. But through his daughter Sharleen I knew he was loved. My heart and prayers go out to your family. That you can overcome the serenity you all deserve..

Grandpa you were such an amazing, fun loving man. You left your grandchildren with such wonderful memories of time spent with you. For many of us older ones that time was spent bumming with you. For anyone who knew you they know what bumming was. We so looked forward to Saturday mornings as we knew grandpa would be coming to take us bumming. When you got there you would take a few moments to terrorize Uncle Casey cat with you rubber ban gun and then off to our adventure we went. We never really knew were you would be taking us, (but I don’t really think that mattered much to any of us) but we did now that we were going to have an amazing adventure, some lunch and them on some occasion we would end our day with a trip to great grandmas for a piece of butter scotch candy, a trip down in the basement to pick out a trinket from the church’s rummage sale and them quite time on grandma’s porch swing. I only wish that the younger grandkids & great grandkids could have experienced this with you. I know Bill, who got to experienced bumming, is waiting up there for you.It is now his turn to take you bumming. Sit back and enjoy… you are free now grandpa no more pain, hospital stays and machines. I take great comfort in knowing you are in a better place. I LOVE YOU and will deeply miss you grandpa. Until we meet again...

Serenity and I last saw grampa Jim on December 20th. Serenity had spent the night with Billie & Papa and when we picked her up at 10:28am, Jim was eagerly waiting for us behind the wheel of his car - he couldn't be late to church! That's what I'll remember about him - dedicated as well as humorous and kind. Papa had just taught Serenity how to play solataire the day before. We will miss him.

I will miss Jim very much. He is much loved by everyone in my family. As my sister in-law stated he was a loving and gentle soul. Never heard Jim complain about his illness and he definitely showed a zest for living. He was a wise old soul and very observant. He was a wonderful companion for my mother and made a great dad, grandpa and papa for us all. For me you left us too soon, may you be at peace.
