James Oaks Jr Obituary

James (Junior) A. Oaks Jr, passed away on July 16, 2024, in Mellott Indiana, at the age of 72. Born on November 28, 1951.

Junior is survived by his daughters, Jamie Spencer and Jackie York; grandchildren, Steven and Breyanna Spencer, Zach Oaks, Dylan, and Matthew York; great-grandchildren, Kolten, Kylee, Karter Spencer, Braelyn & Jhett Lee. His brothers Ben and Tim Oaks and Dennis Strong. He was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Oaks, his father James A Oaks Sr and mother and father Helen and Jack Strong.

A celebration of life will be held in honor of Junior. Details of the service will be determined and announced at a later date. Junior's hobbies were playing cards, mushroom hunting, lotto, and big fish stories.

Jr. Was a great cousin. We spent much of our youth at each other's home, until he and family moved to Virginia. We lost touch due to different places and lifestyle.

I've known Jr all my life. I married his cousin , Chuck in 1972. He rode to Indiana with us one year. He has always been a good friend that I will miss. I regret not getting see him before he passed. He told me once that he would Always miss Virginia but he liked Indiana. I offer condolences to his two daughters and x wife Sue. God bless
