James Andrew Parrish Jr.

James “Jim� Parrish, Jr. was born on September 1, 1929, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the union of the late James Andrew and Essie Mae Parrish. James departed this life on October 20, 2009.James was a resident of Stockton, California for over 30 years. James served in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War. Following his service in the military, James retired from the California State Corrections Department, after more than 40 years as a correctional and parole officer. James enjoyed traveling, the fine arts, politics, and family.James’ five siblings; Murphy Parrish, Felix Parrish, Pawnee Parrish, Tommie Mae Smith, and Bobby Gene Parrish, proceed him in death.James leaves to cherish his memory: his companion of more than twenty years, Gloria Chaudoin; his sons, James Avery Parrish of San Jose, California, Garland Parrish of San Diego, California, Kevin Parrish of Stockton, California, and Flennell Parrish of San Diego, California; daughter, Amber Cruz (Parrish) of Oak Harbor, Washington; his brother, Charles Ray Parrish, Sr. of Fresno, California; his grandchildren, Rachel Parrish, Carmen Johnston, Joseph Cruz, and Nathaniel Cruz; his great grandchildren Nusayba Guiro and Daisy Johnston; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
