It is with heavy heart that I announce the passing of my son, James. He passed away on June 14, 2024 of natural causes. People talk about how kind someone is by saying, "he would give the shirt off his back to someone that needed it." James actually gave his shirt to many people that needed it. He was a person who actually cared about others. Gathering things, he would find and giving them to people he thought needed them even if he needed it. He volunteered at food banks, packing food and directing traffic in extreme heat and cold. He always defended the underdog. If he saw a girl with a man mistreating her, he would step in and make it known that the behavior was unacceptable. He would give a homeless person his last bit of food, a blanket, clothes or whatever it was he had at the time. He was not perfect, but nobody is. No matter how sick he was, he was not too sick to help. I know James has touched many lives. We will never know the extent of the positive effect James had on the lives he touched. One seemingly little act can trickle down and have an effect on so many lives. I was talking to my daughters a couple weeks ago. I told them how James had gotten me a plant 28 years ago. How all my plants die except this one. Plants don't live this long. James was so happy when he gave it to me. He had gotten it at a garage sale and carried that heavy plant all the way home. We talked and laughed about it. The people who sold James the plant will never know how that affected me and what a happy time my daughters and I had 28 years later. They will never know the happy memory I will always have of James every time I water or just look at the plant. Rest in peace James. We will see you in heaven. I will always love you unconditionally James.
