He is survived by his children, Bryan Pontious of Durham, NC, and Dawn Pontious of Lexington, SC; siblings William Pontious, Ann L. Disher (Larry Sr.), and Beth A. Clingo (Charles); and nieces and nephews Christine, Larry Jr., Pattiann, Lisa, Shawna, Shannon, and Andrea and one grandchild, Tyler.
Per his wishes, Jim's body was donated to science.
