James Edward Prinslow

Jim was born to John and Regina Prinslow on September 29, 1946. He was raised in Gervais, OR and participated in Football, Baseball, and the FFA. He was also deemed the best dancer in the class of 1964.

Jim started his career at a very young age working for his father at the family grocery store Johnnies SP in Woodburn, OR. After graduation he moved to Pendleton, OR where he worked at the State Hospital; from there he worked for the OLCC. There were various jobs along the way but on April 1, 1974 he started his career at MacLaren Juvenile Correctional facility which lasted for 30 years. During his time there he went back to school and received an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement; then went back to school at Western Oregon State College and obtained his degree in Law Enforcement and then a Masters Degree in Counseling.

After his retirement Jim joined the staff at Blanchet Catholic High School in Salem, OR as a Counselor. He worked in that position for 11 years. Jim loved working with the students and helping them build their academic future.

On April 20,1974 Jim married Deborah Lynn Toepfer. They resided in Woodburn, OR and moved to Keizer, OR in 1994 where they remained. Thankfully, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.

Jim was a fabulous, loving husband and wonderful father. He passed in his sleep at home. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son Travis. He is survived by: Wife Debbie, Children Michelle/Kyle, Ehren, and Rae'lynn, Granddaughters Lillie and Piper, Siblings Jeannie, Ron, Eva, David, Mary, and Bob

No formal service will be held but an Open House style gathering will be taking place at the Woodburn, OR Eagles Lodge on 09/29/24 from 2pm-5pm.
