Zanesville - James R. "Uncle Jim" Frederick, 70, of Negley and Zanesville, Ohio, passed away August 16, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic, surrounded by his loving family.

Born September 18, 1952 to the late Raymond and Adlyn Fletcher Frederick. Jim was a 1970 graduate of Ambridge High School that went on to attend Duquesne University and graduated with a degree in Journalism in 1974. He worked as a Sports Director at WHIZ TV Station in Zanesville for nearly 20 years. His passion for sports ran deep, having been an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, and announcing High School Football and Basketball games for WBVP Radio for over 10 years. Later in life Jim was the Deputy Treasurer for Beaver County Court House for 19 years. Jim will be remembered for his kindness and compassion to others, having never met a stranger.

Jim will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Joyce Eppley Frederick; his fur babies Reggie and Riley; brother, Mark (Becky) Frederick; 3 nephews, Mark (Chelsea), Jason (Brandi) and Bradley; 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew, whom he adored. Cambree, Capria, and Cru; mother-in-law Vivian Eppley; and many cousins and close friends.

Friends and family will be received Monday, August 21, 2023 from 4PM to 8PM, and on Tuesday August 22, 2023 from 10AM until the time of Blessing Service at 11AM at Noll Funeral Home Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.

Private Interment to take place at Beaver Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be shared to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org, or St Jude www.stjude.org

Joyce,
With sympathy and empathy, I send you my sincere condolences and virtual hugs. I remember when you lived in the downstairs apartment on Euclid Ave. in Zanesville when you and Jim first began dating. How many years have gone by! We have missed many years of each other's lives (including my marriage and the passing of my husband, too), but friendship remains.
