James Rabold Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 25, 2018.
Jay Rabold, 71, from Plymouth, Massachusetts, formerly of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away at home peacefully in his sleep on January 25, 2018. Jay was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on April 17, 1946. He attended Moravian College, where he met his wife Caroline. They married on November 1, 1969, married 48 years. Jay was a successful real estate developer who ran several companies and developed vacation home projects in the Pocono Mountains, Florida, and the British Virgin Islands. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, kayaking, and golf. He loved gardening and designing beautiful homes and landscapes. He loved traveling throughout the United States, enjoying the planning process almost as much as the actual travel. He loved taking his entire family on vacations to warmer climates. He enjoyed playing games of all kinds, debating politics, and rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles. Above all, he lived for his family, especially the love of his life, Caroline. He will be well remembered for his sense of humor, his always optimistic, positive attitude, his generosity, and his love of family. For the past few years, Jay fought numerous health battles and endured more medical procedures than most, because he really wanted to live to see his grandchildren, Clay, Jackson, Jake, Zachary, Connor, Ethan, and Scarlett, of whom he was so proud, grow up. In addition to his grandchildren, Jay is survived by his three children, Jennifer Rabold and her husband Dan, Kimberly Rabold and her partner Lynn Turchi, and Lindsey McCullough and her husband Mike; his brother David and his sisters Judi and Bobbie; extended family and many friends. Jay is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Louise Rabold, as well as his brother Ted. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on February 10, 2018 at Davis Funeral and Cremation Home 619 State Rd. Plymouth (Manomet) . In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Boys Town of New England or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/ two charities he supported all his life. www.boystown.org (choose Boys Town New England on drop-down menu) or stjude.org

I met Jay and Caroline through my late wife, Donna. Jay was her employer, mentor and lifetime friend. They remained close until Donna passed in December 2016. She always admired him, learned a great deal from him and his Dad and felt very fortunate to have worked for him. They would talk for at least an hour when they did. He was very generous to her and us. It is so hard for me to put into words what his friendship meant to her, but I would see the gratitude and admiration for him after they spoke. My deepest condolences to Caroline and the family for the loss of Jay. I am so sorrow. I hope he and Donna are on park bench up there catching up.
