Dear Redington Family,
We were saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Redington. He was one of the kindest, nicest, and most thorough and best doctors we have ever known. My parents, Walter and Alberta Wegener, absolutely LOVED him, as both my sister and our families did as well. He will be missed! We can rest assured, however, that his soul is now resting in the realms of Heavenly bliss.

Dr. Redington was a doctor above all other physicians. He was the BEST of the Best. Dr. Redington gave each of his patients his undivided time, attention, and expertise. And his daughter, Ann, takes great credit for Dr. Redington's office being probably the best run office in the United States.

Whenever ANYONE called the office, that person was greeted by Ann, a real live, breathing human being-- not a recording tell you to press this button or that button! And if you were sick or had a problem that needed attention, Ann made sure that you were able to see Dr. Redington right away.

When Dr. Redington retired, his patients grieved-- and rightfully so. For they will never, ever find another doctor as thorough, kind, compassionate, brilliant, and up-to-date in his knowledge as Dr. Redington. He was one of a kind-- and well known and revered among his peers-- not only at SSM.

When Dr. Redington retired it was a tremedous loss to all of us. But Dr. Redington's death is a loss to the world at large.

Dr. Redington was a blessing to his patients.

My thoughts are with his family-- and to our dear Ann.

Love, Penny Engelsman (the deceased Alan Engelsman's wife)

Dear Redington Family, I was one of the RN's at the SNU at St Mary's Health Center in the '90's. Your father and grandfather was always kind to his patients AND the nurses! We all loved him. He always had a smile on his face. He was a gentleman. My sincerest condolences to your family. I can only imagine how much you all will miss him!

To the family and friends of Dr. Redington, I was a patient of Dr. Redington up until his retirement. I also enjoyed talking to him. He was very thorough in his examinations but also spent the necessary time to explain his findings and recommendations. He always steered me toward healthy behavior. Above all, I was inspired by his positive outlook on life. I admired his active lifestyle. He was a fine doctor and a special man. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Jim was one of the men my father admired most. He and my mother felt truly blessed to have Jim in their lives. It is sad to see so many from America's "greatest generation" pass away. They are going to be missed. I'm sure my dad will greet him in the afterlife, with an old fashion in hand. Our love and condolences. Sorry we couldn't be there to celebrate Jim's life with you.
