James Riechel

Eugene - James Alan Riechel, born on December 14, 1969, in Bellflower, California, passed away on September 27, 2024, in Eugene, Oregon, from a heart attack. He was 54 years old. James spent his early years in Glendale, California, where he attended Mayfield Junior School in Pasadena and St. Francis High School in La Cañada. His academic journey continued at the University of California, Irvine, where he also participated as an exchange student at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. James later earned a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia. James was a great tutor in math & physics. James & his sister Jennifer became great skiers & loved their trips to the local mountains & especially Mammoth Mountain. They both started swimming at their grandparents Wren's pool by age one & loved our trips to the beach. He is survived by his beloved mother, Susanne Riechel of Glendale, California; his father, William Riechel of San Dimas, California; his sister, Jennifer Jackson of Glendale; and his nephew Evan Jackson wife Victoria & baby Gemma of La Crescenta, California. James will also be deeply missed by numerous aunts, uncles, and friends who cherished his presence in their lives. James's life was marked by his dedication to education and the connections he formed with those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his loved ones find comfort in remembering the moments they shared with him. A private service was held for the immediate family.
