He was born in Greer, a son of the late Charles P. and Aletha Griffeth Robison. He graduated from Parker High School in Greenville, was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church, the Mae Kelley Sunday School Class and the Tabernacle Mens Club. He was a member of Flintville Lodge 158 AFM, past master of Liberty Lodge in Liberty, SC, and member of North American Gladiolus Council. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served as a hospital corpsman, and retired in 1981 from Mafco Textured Fibers as a textile designer and overseer.
Surviving are his son, Kenneth Dale (Elizabeth Warren) Robison of Greenville; daughter, Mona (Gene) Collins of Effingham; grandchildren, Mona Lynn (Randy) Sechrest of Evergreen, Gary (Tammy) Collins of Florence, Kevin (Catherine) Robison of Lexington, Shannon Robison of Charleston and Carrie Robison of Center, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Heather Sechrest of Rock Hill, Ellis Collins and Brandon Collins, both of Florence, Noah Robison and Zoe Robison, both of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nelle Lois Burriss Robison; brothers, C.P. Robison Jr. and William David Bill Robison; sisters, Ina Price, Annice Ledbetter and Ruth Johnson.
Memorials may be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 6854 Francis Marion Road, Pamplico, SC 29583.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Collins, 4615 Armfield Road, Effingham.
