Karin, David and Family,
I'm so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He and I worked together at Portsmouth and we maintained contact with each other through various emails over the years, with the last one being in January of this year. He always spoke so proudly of his family and you could see the love in his eyes that he felt in his heart. We had many things in common, tea, motorcycles, sports cars and even the colectomy, which I had done a year prior to his operation. Who would have known of the complications that could have set in? Jim was always there to help anyone at anytime and always did it with a smile on his face. He would always go the extra mile until the task was complete. Jim will never be forgotten.
May God Bless you all and the Good Lord Jesus comfort and see you through this difficult time.

Dear Mr. Sabin,
I met you only briefly and unfortunately even so I am a Doctor I was not able to help you, when it came to the worst. I am deeply sorry about that and I can only hope, that everything changed for the better for you and that your wife and your son will cope with this loss, because I am sure this would be what you want. I am very sorry I could not say good bye personally.

Jim provided me with guidance and inspiration when I tried to succeed him at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He was always helpful and provided me with any assistance I requested both personal and professional. I am deeply saddened by your loss. Jim was universally well-liked and respected here. Please accept my condolences

We are so sorry to hear about Jim. I worked with him for 6 months at DLA-E. In that short time I came to know him as a very kind, and gentle man. I will never forget him. He was a good man to work with, and he gave me some really good advise on traveling by train.

Remembering Jim Sabin
We had the wonderful opportunity to cross paths from 1995 - 1998 in our Melbourne, Australia office. Jim had this uncanny way of making you feel like he had known you forever, making the transition to this office a breeze. His sense of humor and killer laugh, made for a great working environment. He was so knowledgeable in his field and made a great person to follow on our many trips around Australia, including Tasmania.
Not only was Jim a loving husband and father, but a great friend out of the office. Jim and I spent many a day biking with son Dave for hours on end, then kicking back for an Aussie beer and throwing something on the barbie. My wife, Debbie and Karin spent as much time together on their craft classes and shopping. Our lives and knowing the Sabins didn't end with our move back to the States and next assignment. We have stayed in contact through offices and e:mails. Our last travel was in October of 2007 when we traveled to Holland and contacted the Sabins trying to get together for a visit. We were unable; however did get to speak to them on the phone several times.
I will always remember and respect Jim. He and I still have some unfinished business. There are several unopened beers and bike rides yet to take between us, to be continued when we meet again.
With much love and respect - we will miss you dear friend.

Karin & David;
Although I'm in Afghanistan I feel very close to you today. I continue to pray for you both. I pray for your own emotional recovery and each night I ask God to cradle Jim in his arms and I truly believe he does. Jim was a great friend and I will always remember him as he was the last time I saw him in Kitzingen Germany. Funny, strong, confident, proud of his accomplishments, and grateful for his family. I was certainly proud to be his friend. Love, Dan

Karin, David and family,
We simply can't believe that such a gentle, funny, kind and friendly man has been lost to us. Though we can't be with you physically now, our hearts grieve with you spiritually. I hope that it rains that day, as even the earth herself should cry for the loss of Jim.

Dear Karin & David,
Words can not express how sorry we are over your loss of Jim. It has been difficult to receive your e-mail messages telling of Jim's declining health and know that there was nothing we could do from here but pray for him to improve, and for both of you to keep up your strength and faith. We look forward to seeing you next week in Geneva, and paying our last respects to Jim.
Deepest Condolences,
The Marggraf Family
