James Roy Sanders, Jr., age 74, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Mr. Sanders was born in Greenwood, SC to the late James Roy Sanders, Sr. and Cleo Elizabeth Canfield Farmer. Roy was a contractor by trade. He loved wood working, gardening, cooking, canning, traveling and spending time with his family. His amazing spirit and love of life was contagious. His favorite pass time was playing shuffle board at the Alamo Senior Citizens Center.

Roy is survived by his wife of over 17 years, Debra East Sanders of Friendship, TN; his mother, Cleo Farmer, Greenwood, SC; two sons, Jeff Owens and Allan Sanders, of Greenwood, SC; one stepson, Jason Reynolds of Friendship, TN; one daughter, Fay Sanders of Greenwood, SC; one sister, Toni Lynn Steadman; one niece, Nicole McClendon (Jason). He leaves a legacy of several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will be hosting a celebration of life on Thursday, May 8th at 2:00 pm at Spirit Life Providence Pentecostal Church located at 716 Old Abbeville Highway, Greenwood, SC.
