Happy heavenly birthday to our amazing Jim. You are so missed in so many ways. I miss your frequent drop ins to the shop when you were in the area for a quick hug and a funny story, I miss hearing "heyyyy girl" and a huge smile, and most of all I miss your warm, welcoming, love in the shape of a hug. Celebrating you with a cold Houligans beer in your honor. Cheers, forever friend. Xo Ashlee

With Jim's birthday coming up tomorrow, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on how much he loved and was dedicated to friends and family. Not only did he have many close friends, but he also adopted my friends as his own, by taking a genuine interest in them and staying in touch. Because of this, many of my friends know him well and we can reminisce and share stories, which is very comforting to me.
Jim's love of family never wavered and you always knew that he had your back. He loved to play and was a great listener and his family's biggest fan. I know he continues to smile down on us and sends blessings. Happy Birthday Dad!

Read the tribute to Jim and remembered all the great times we shared with you all. Jim eas my Ron's best buddy for. almost 50 years. They rode their motorcycles both on the highways and in the forests. They were like 2 peas on a pod. I loved the pic of them with their yrophy bass they were close like brothers, respected each other and enjoyed each othets company. I will always be grateful for Jim, Dan, and Jomny T for taking Ron on his final ride"around the horn". It mramt the world to me, and I know Ron loved it Jim eas a wonferful person in every way. God bless you mh friend. Jan Swintek.

Jim was always the "stable presence" in the background, always looking for what needs to be done and doing it quietly and with grace. He exuded warmth and acceptance of others. It feels like he was always part of our family, and we will hold him near to our hearts.

Jim was always the "stable presence" who could be counted on to roll up his sleeves and pitch in with whatever needed to be done. He exuded warmth and acceptance of others. I know that he treasured life with my sister, and he always felt like family, not to mention all of the wonderful times we had on his boat! We truly miss him and will always hold him, near to our hearts.

Love, Michael and Brina

What an honor to speak in memory of the wonderful and kind man who was Jim Sappington as his birthday approaches.

One of the great treats of having met and served with Roberta in the Federal Aviation Administration, and discovering our common interest in dogs, and particularly, Yorkshire Terriers, was that I met and enjoyed Jim as well.

One of my two Yorkies, Emma, was destined to join Roberta and Jim´s family from the day she was born.

When, with God´s guidance, we realized that, Emma joined the Sappingtons for a long life of loving and being loved. The joy she brought them has always made me so, so happy.

Roberta was kind enough to invite me to visit with Jim in what turned out to be his last day. The next day I accompanied Roberta on some critical errands (at super speed, of course, which is her normal speed) relating to Jim´s passing.

All of a sudden, Roberta took a moment to have me listen to a recording of one of their son, Jay´s, songs. Of course, it was touching and moving to hear his voice and his creation.

At Jim´s burial, I was able to pay my respects to Jay as well as Jim. Through it all, it was clear that the story of the love of Jim, Roberta, and Jay for each other has only just begun, and that Roberta´s faith will carry us through the sadness of Jim and Jay´s loss that is causing tears for me as I write this.

Jim was a wonderful husband always looking after my friend Rivka, coming out late on Friday nights to follow her in his car as she walked home in the dark after Shabbos

Our hearts go out to you and your family Roberta. When we think of Jim....kind beyond measure ,soft spoken, genuine, sweet and FUNNY come to mind. We'll never forget some of the stories he told us, hanging at Iron Horse with you both and how much he loved you. Dave has so many memories with him at the cable company he's overwhelmed. Sometimes as we get older we drift apart, but you(and Jim) are always loved.
