Gary, Wayne and families, We are so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. My dad phoned both myself and Roger tonight with the news. Dad is so sad to hear this as Jim was a very special friend to him, and they both kept in goof touch with each other, despite the miles between them over the last 5 years. I remember our many visits with Jim and Edith, and "you boys" very fondly. Jim always had something to tease me about, always made sure to give me a hard time! I think I was always a little frightened of him as a child (but Edith always made up for that). As I grew older, I realized he had lots of bluster in him, and had quite the sense of humour. He made us all laugh with his antics and opinions. He was definitely a unique character, and always had something to say, and loudly at that! Your dad had very good conversations with my dad, both before and after my mom passed away in January. Sad for both of them, to lose their wives. Jim always spoke proudly of both of you and your accomplishments, and also of his grandchildren. He had an eventful life, and I know you will have lots of special memories. Sharing all of those, as I have found, is a great comfort. No matter how long a life has been, the passing is difficult on family; facing your grief and its process is an enlightening and growing experience. All your family support should assist greatly, while going through this difficult time. I wish you all well. Dad had mentioned you wondered about my email address, it is [email protected]. Take care of yourselves and we will be thinking of you on Saturday. My love and concern to you all... Patti Stewart
