Services to celebrate the life of James Edward Shelton will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, October 29, 2010, in Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Shelton was born on August 18th, 1956, in Many, LA and resided in the Shreveport area where he worked very hard throughout his life as a craftsman carpenter. After a courageous fight against cancer, Mr. Shelton passed away at his residence on Sunday, October 24, 2010.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Shelton and Marie Shelton; brother, Hank Shelton; and nephew, Jeffery Hall. Survivors include his children, Angela Shelton and Danny Cook, Bobbie Shelton and Stephen Foster; grandchildren, Tylar and Lucas Foster; sisters, Pam Nunley and Gwen Catanese and husband, Daniel; brother, Lonnie Shelton and wife, Roberta; sister-in-law, Roxie Shelton; close cousins, Joanne and Bobby McComic; wife, Kathy Shelton; lifelong friend, Charlene Shoemake; and many other family, friends, and loved ones.
Donations can be made to Feist-Weiller Cancer Center or First Baptist Church Bossier/Jerry Ables Foundation.

Pam, Gwen and Lonnie, I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. It is heartbreaking to loose such a young person. You expect them to be there always. I never had the pleasure of meeting his children, My heart goes out to you. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Angie and Bobbie, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Jimmy was such a wonderful person, he will be greatly missed. Please let Pam, Gwen, Charlene, Joanne, Dewellen and the rest of the family know that I love you all and think of you often...what wonderful times we had when we were all together.

Bobbi, I know that your heart is heavy. We hurt for the loss of the hand that made us feel safe. But now your Daddy is watching over you and your sister in ways that he couldn't here. And , like my Mom and Dad, he will continue to be a blessing in your life. I love you my friend.

I did not know James personally...but I feel for the family.. just the same.. Kathy, please know we are here for you... To the children of Mr. James Edward..be strong and have faith.. your father is with OUR father now. Kathy always speaks so highly of you all.. So I know your Daddy was a proud one. My heart goes out to you all in this sad time. I will never forget his smile.. he had one that was so contagious that you couldn't help but smile yourself! I will continue to pray for him and everyone that is hurting right now.. Bobbie and Angie I am here for you guys always.. He may be gone but most definately not forgotten..
