For some reason , I got to thinking about Glenmount days and my growing - up years there . The Shetlers came to mind... Jim , Jane and their parents. I just decided to Google, Jim and this obituary came up. Oh my dear former neighbour and friend, how sad it is to see your name here.
I send my condolences to you , Ann ( I believe that you were my CGIT leader somewhere in our long ago past circa 1955), and to my friend , Jane.
Love to you all ,
Linda Brown.

It is with great sadness that I learned today of Jim's death from Robert Feeley. My sincere condolences to you Ann, Michael, Cathy and the rest of the family. We have been out of touch for to many years. However the things that I learned and experienced when working with Jim, Michael and Bob will never be forgotten.

To the Shetler Family,

I was so sorry to hear the news from Mum this week of Mr Shetlers passing.
One of my favorite memories is of Mr Shetler driving us on backroads near your cottage and at the top of a large hill telling Nancy and I he had run out of gas while shifting the car to neutral. There were a few screams and lots of giggles, a trick I now use every once in awhile on my kids for a little added car excitement.
My deepest sympathies.

We want to thank Jim for playing such a huge role in the lives of the Barrett family at Brule. In particular his encouragment to our late Bruce, by playing with him in our tennis tournaments, those wins will remain wonderful memories.

And thanks to Jim's coaching many of our juniors not only learned to play the game, they learned how to play it in a gracious and sportsmanlike manner.

Our deepest sympathies to you Ann and the childre, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

How cute is the photo I have of Jim, Jane, Uncle Leonard and me on the dock in Sydney, N.S. I'll have it framed and it will be displayed in a prominent place for me to go back in time.

Our "family reunion" with all the cousins and their families will also be remembered and never forgotten.

Miles separate families sometimes, and we should never allow that to happen. Life is too damn short.

Our deepest sympathy to you Ann and your children.

Love,

Jeanette (Shetler) and Dave Russell in North Bay.

Ann, it was with shock and sadness that I read of Jim's death. I know you have many family and friends who will be there for you as you deal with this loss. I wish I could be there, too. I am there in my thoughts, and you will be in my heart and my prayers in the days, weeks, months and years to come. My sympathies to your children and grandchildren, as well.

To every thing there is a season. My main season with Jim began at Mt,Allison in 1954 and 2 years laterI became a SigmaChi brother.A decade of youth friendship happiness and good life.
All my times with Jim were the best of times.May you remember all the best of your happy times with him as I do.
Life is measured in the height of the peaks-- not in the depth or fequency of the valleys. So at this low time remember the impact and laughter and friendship as I do and the peaks of many moments with him.
I am glad I was a friend of Jim

While attending McGill in the 50's I got to know Jim as his step mother was my Aunt. I fondly remember one week end he took me to a movie and he got dressed up in a suit even though he was only 13 years old and was very handsome and sophisticated.
Our deepest sympathies and prayers go out to the entire family;
