I met Jim at The Village at Seven Oaks where my mom and dad resided. He and Lou were welcoming and friendly when my parents arrived. Jim quickly made mom a wooden "license plate" for mom's walker, one for dad when he finally arrived. We all received pins for each holiday, I still have them. The "food catchers" that many wore during meals were greatly appreciated and, in my opinion, added a bit of dignity and character to those who wore one. They were tailored to each person. . Jim carved toys for children and helped with the baking during activitiy time at Seven Oaks. These are only a few examples of Jim's compassion, kindness, and ability to make a difference in anyone who was blessed enough to know him. Mom and I spent many hours talking with Jim and Lou from Jan to July 2016, until their passing. Lou and Jim were there to comfort me and offer any help that was needed. I will forever be greatful and blessed knowing Jim and Lou. My heart aches for you, Lou. You have lost your love, best friend and companion. Prayers and hugs to you.

Lurene,
I am thinking of you and your family and know you will miss Jimmie very much. He was such a fine person. I feel privileged to have known him, especially during my early years as a teenager at East High. He was my first date and I didn't even know how to dance very well.
He was always a credit to his family, this community and his country.
Love,
Mary K (Miki) Shell
