James Snodgrass Obituary

James Carl "Jayme" Snodgrass, 18, of Fayette City, formerly of Monongahela, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born July 3, 1989, in Washington, Pa., a son of Shelly McNelis, of Warren, and William A. Snodgrass and wife, Yvonne (Sluk), of Fayette City. Jayme was a member of Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church of Monongahela and its youth group. He was a 2007 graduate of Ringgold High School and a member of the wrestling team while in school. Jayme was employed by Allegheny Valley Transfer in West Mifflin. He loved spending time with his brothers and was an avid hunter. Jayme enjoyed working on cars, Motocross, skate boarding and farming. He touched many lives, leaving a lasting impression and loved by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Deanna, of Monessen; five brothers, Shawn, Zachary and Blake Snodgrass, of Warren, and Joey and Justin Stonick, of Fayette City; one sister, Serena Snodgrass, of Fayette City; his maternal grandparents, Frank and Mary Jane Gavaghan Sutts, of Finleyville; his paternal grandparents, William H. and Margaret Dunlevy Snodgrass, of Monongahela; his step-grandparents, Roy and Pat Sluk, of Brownsville; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 West Main St., Monongahela (724-258-6136). Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church, 911 Howard St., Monongahela, with the Rev. Raymond Ursin officiating. Committal services and interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the James Snodgrass Medical Fund, in care of any Citizens Bank branch.
