James E. Soderquist Sr. of Pearce Arizona passed away from this earth on September 8, 2024 after a courageous battle with illness. He was born and raised in Waukegan Il. Jim began his career with Commonwealth Edison in 1968 eventually becoming a crew leader and retiring from ComEd/Exlon in 2004. Jim his wife Andrea and mother-in-law Berta moved from their ranch Steele's Noble Steeds in Antioch Illinois to move to sunny Arizona in 2004 to retire. Building their homestead Laughing Dog Ranch, surrounded by the Dragoon Mountains and the Cochise Stronghold. Even though he "retired" he was active with volunteer work and doing many odd and not so odd jobs for neighbors, friends, and the community he loved.

Jim is survived by his children James Soderquist Jr.(Janet) Laura (Jesus) Garcia grandchildren Adam Garcia, Sandra(Adam) Opatrny, Alex, Robert, and Christopher Garcia. Sisters, Margaret Evans, Constance(Michael) Spoden, sister-in-law Joan (Bob) VanLieshout, brother-in-law John(Peggy) Steele, sister-in-law Roberta Steele and many loved nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his wife Andrea Steele, his parents, Edwin and Jeannie Soderquist, mother-in-law Berta Steele, and father-in-law John Steele. A special thank you to Tanya his neighbor and friend who helped much, with family so far away.
