James Kenneth Stamper BECKLEY, W.Va. James Kenneth Stamper, age 77, passed away on Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at Appalachian Hospital in Beckley. He was a native of Konnarock, Va., and was a son of the late Arthur and Minnie Stamper. He had lived in Beckley most of his life and worked for Raleigh Motor Sales and then later retiring from Earhardt Motors in Beckley. He received his business degree from Beckley College. Mr. Stamper was an active member of Beaver United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer, Sunday school teacher and a lay leader of the church. He is survived by one sister, Mabel Stamper Adams and her husband, Henry, of Konnarock; a special friend, Juanita Dunbar of Beckley; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at Beaver United Methodist Church in Beaver, W.Va., with Pastor Paul Stadelman officiating. The committal service and interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday following the funeral service at Laurel Cemetery in Konnarock. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday prior to the funeral service at Beaver United Methodist Church.
