Mr. Stohr was my very first boss at my very first job at the DQ. I started at $1.40/hour and loved every minute of it--especially payday! He was such a kind, considerate, happy person to be around. He enjoyed everyone he met. I loved working there and think of my DQ job as one of the best! I've had a number of bosses since then--and I can promise you-- none of them come close to the man I've always called, "Sunny Jim." My heart-felt blessings to his family during this difficult time.

Jim was our friend and mentor. He graciously welcomed us into the "Dairy Queen family", kept a close eye on us as we acclimated to the business, and was always there to give sage advice and Irish humor. One of Jim's basic principles, other than "the customer is always right", was that, if you were ever out of a product that a customer would normally order, get it immeidiately, somehow, or you will be out of business!! Many of our basic business principles that became habits for becoming a successful business can be traced back to Jim's wisdom and council. Thanks, Jim, for touching our lives! You will be missed, but remembered!

My earliest memory of Jim is in the late 1940's delivering groceries to my parent's home on 16th Avenue.
Easter blessings to all of Jim's family.
