James Sweat Obituary
Pops was born on March 12, 1944, in Dillon, South Carolina to Arthur & Janice Cleo (Henderson) Sweat. He served in the United States Army and worked as a general laborer at various companies in Bluffton.
Survivors include his children; James W. Sweat of Decatur, Todd Sweat of Muncie, Patty Cleo Schooley and Mark Sweat, both of Texas, along with many loving grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings; Donald Sweat, Harvel (Dorothy) Sweat, both of Texas, Horrance B. Sweat of LaOtto and Clara Brock of Decatur.
He is preceded in death by a son, David Sweat, 7 sisters and 2 brothers.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles # 2653 in Decatur.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. Friends can send online condolences to the family at www.thomarich.com.
