You will be missed Jimmy. Thank you for all that you taught me at the hall. I loved working with you those short few years. See ya on the flip side buddy.

I remember the first day I met you, although not the date or which day of the week it was.
It was of course on your check in day to MWSS-172 on Okinawa, that you threw me for a loop.
Most boots on checking in are super nervous and hardly say anything.
But there you stood in front of me with two other stern faced new guys fresh out of Ft Leonard Wood, who were unremarkable and afraid to speak first, you with a huge grin and a "Good Afternoon Corporal". As a new Corporal, all I could think was "this guy is going to need some special attention.", meaning I thought you might be not taking this seriously, but I quickly realized your enthusiasm was so great that it just couldn´t help but affect all of you, including that big faced grin.
Between that day and the day I PCS´d back to Pendleton a few months later, we never had a dull moment. Those late night convoy runs to Futenma blasting Slayer in the HMMWV on your boombox while I drove. You were always my first pick, if they gave me the choice for crew for the shift, because I knew at least we would have a good time.
The nights in the barracks when any one in the platoon might´ve been dealing with some drama, and you´d be by everyone´s rooms to see what they were up to.
Wherever you are, I hope you´re having the party of your life, blaring good tunes and hamming it up with some good buds.
I´m sure you have made a lot of new buds, and I hope they appreciate you as much as those still here who were lucky enough to be considered one of yours.
Semper Fi Jimmy,
Mark

I don't remember the first time I saw you, but you were one of my boys from day 1. Many years passed and you grew into the man we all know and love and after one particularly difficult and long conversation, we asked our kids then you If you wanted to be part of our family. You said the same thing our kids said "you're already my family". From that day forward I called you son. You had such an impact on us, made us better somehow, like you were always supposed to be ours. My son, my Marine, My heart bleeds....We miss you

It was the Marine Corps birthday and I found myself at LA HA 2 and we were singing the Marines Hymn. At last call he invited me to his house and was permitted to check out his N.C.O. sword. At the end of the festivities, I helped him out of his flowerbed. SEMPER FIDELIS BROTHER
