TRUDEL, James Edward 1923-2009 On July 20, 2009 James Trudel of Edmonton passed away after years of failing health. Jim is survived by his wife Barbara (Dykes); daughter Diane (George) Colgan; Sons Laurin (Ruby), Jim (Beverly) and Craig (Jenny); five grandchildren Kevin, Justin, Pamela, Jamie and Nicholas; one great-granddaughter Taylor; his brother Phil (Jean) and sister Frances and blended family members Pat (Don) Greig, Carol (Doug) Rogerson, David (Rose) Dykes, Doug (Lorraine) Dykes and ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Jim was predeceased by his brothers Frank, Albert, John and Richard and by his sisters Emma, Grace and his first wife Isabelle (Dalby). Jim served as a boy soldier with the Edmonton Fusiliers 101st Battalion then joined the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War serving as Stoker then later in bomb disposal. After the war he served with the 19th Alberta Dragoons and worked with Edmonton Transit for 31 years until his retirement. Thank you to the staff of the Kipnes Centre for Veterans for their care and caring over the past two years. It has been gratefully appreciated. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mary's Anglican Church (11203 - 68 Street, Edmonton) on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kipnes Centre for Veterans, 4470 McCrae Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB, T5E 6M8.
