James Tycocki Obituary
July 18, 1944 - March 15, 2025
James died peacefully at the age of 80 in Cape Coral, FL where he and his wife, Wendy spent their winters.
James was the son of the late Theodore Tycocki and Dorothy (Douglas) Johnson and grew up in Lansing. James had two brothers, the late Tedford Tycocki and Gary Johnson.
He became a Lansing Firefighter in 1966 and always said he would do it again because he loved it so much. When he retired he moved to Crystal Lake where he loved golfing, fishing, bowling and going to the Kentucky Derby. In more recent years he was a huge MSU Spartan fan.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy, his sons David Tycocki (Beth) , Tim Tycocki, and their mother Elaine Fowler. Also surviving are his stepsons Matthew Swikoski (Antoinette), Andrew Swikoski (Lisa) and seven grandchildren, Benjamin, Hannah, Charlie, Vincent, Drew, Alexa, and Francesca and nieces, the late Teri Smith, Lisa Tycocki, and Lori O'Keefe.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer. Donations can be made in his name to Tunnel 2 Towers.
