James T. Wable, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY, died Sunday, August 9, 2009 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born on December 14, 1922 in Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Harry and Hazel (Spears) Wable and attended schools there. On July 18, 1942 he entered the US Army serving in company F 319th Infantry. He was in Northern France, Normandy and Rhineland receiving the Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with Three Bronze Battle Stars being Honorably Discharged on July 2, 1945. James is a retired laborer from Harrison and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, spending time with his family and grandchildren, playing cards, frequent trips to Allegheny State Park and enjoyed country music. He is survived by his wife, Verona (Maracle) Wable of Niagara Falls, NY; his daughters, Tammy (Dave) Santos, Jennifer Wable and Vickie (Joe) Wable all of Niagara Falls, NY; his sisters, Althea (Ed) McClintock, Ida Wable, Janet (Chauncy) Miller, all of Ohiopyle, PA; grandchildren, Jessy, Matthew and Emma Santos and Jonathan Battice; also survived by numerous family and in-laws, many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Louis Wable; and sister, Sylvania (Roger) Shaw. Friends may call Wednesday, August 12th from 2-4 and 6-9 PM at Zajac Funeral Home, Inc., 319-24th. St. cor. Welch Ave. Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will take place on Thursday, August 13th at 11:00 AM with Rev. Robert Bellingham officiating.
