James Wardlow Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 8, 2017.
James William Wardlow, of Pelham, passed away on January 7, 2017 at the age of 84. He was born on September 7, 1932, in Arkansas to Oscar and Flora Wardlow. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force where he was in the Korean War and stationed in several cities around the world. Before retiring in 1973, he had achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. He immediately became a civil servant working for the United States Postal Service for over 20 years, where he retired for a second time.
He was married to the love of his life, Myrtle for over 50 years, and loved her continually even after her passing in 2012. Together they had one son, William Ronald Wardlow. Growing up farming, he still enjoyed growing vegetables and doing yard work, but his favorite past time was fishing.
He is predeceased in death by his wife, his parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son, Ronnie; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening, Jan. 10, from 6-8pm at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 1:00pm with burial to follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Pelham, AL.

Ronnie, you my friend, will be in my prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there is a hope for our love ones lost in death can be reassuring.
