This was a shock hearing the passing of a true humanitarian my prayers are with his lovely family he is out of pain in God's hands

Dear Jim's Family: I am Fidel's former wife, Anne. I remember Jim when his car broke down and he lived in the apartment across the street from Fidel in Pontiac, MI on Porter Street. We were young then. Now we are old. Fidel & I parted ways long ago but keep in contact. Jim never forgot me and always asked how me and our son were doing. He remembers us from way back. Listening to his funeral service - everything that was said, I remember hearing. I used to laugh that he had a chef come in and make him lunch - but it was true! So many things that were said at his funeral I recall because Fidel and I knew him when that fateful day his car broke down, he rented an apartment in Pontiac, MI and he became a friend for over 40 year. A 40 year friendship speaks for itself.
I recall typing his prospectus for Franklin Bank to present to his backers. Yes, I typed that.
I am heartbroken. Such a great guy. Fidel is heartbroken.

We are stunned at this heartbreaking news. Our memories of (and with) "Wex" go way back to our teenage years in NY. Our friendship remained strong, despite geographic distance and family responsibilities. Wex was a genuine and devoted friend, and we will cherish his memory forever. We send our heartfelt condolences to Karen, Amy, David, and Wex's entire extended family. You were truly the loves of his life.

We are so sad to hear of Jim's passing. We grieve for his family. We have so many memories of our college days together, as well as the journey life took us on.
