A couple of days before the 4th of July, James came to me and asked me if I would help him to pull his motorcycle out of a mud pit he had gotten it stuck in. I told him I would cuz I was driving a '73 Toyota Land Cruiser at the time 4x4 and felt very confident about being able to get to where he was. I picked James up and we went to Snuffy's bar and grill. James reminded me of that and I forgot about that while there there was a lingerie show taking place. it but then went to the mud pit and about a half a mile back is when I had to stop the Land Cruiser because that's as far as I chose to go. We walked from there. This was the 4th of July and the heat was on us both. Another half mile this time all mud to where his motorcycle laid buried under layers of Georgia wet red clay. Using block and tackling, we were able to horizontally pull his bike out about 2-2½ hours later. Heck even after a couple kicks, his bike fired right up and he was able to ride out making it one of the happiest days of his life. + I love ya and will miss you.+

I remember James hanging out with Dennis and the hundreds of hours we spent together in a 1967 Cadillac hearse around Conyers movie theater. Even before that. I remember when Juanita told James he didn't have to go to school no more. Vernon buying him a hooker at 18 for his birthday me being paid by Vernon to help pull his bike out of this mud pit from hell. I can go on. James selling my father his rifle to pay to have his dad creamated . I love you James.

My youngest memory of James was him riding his dirt bike around the apartment complex he lived in and my dad being so annoyed when we visited my aunt over there lol Later in my teenage years we became friends. Didn't make dad happy lol His quick wittiness got me everytime. There was never a dull moment in his presence that I ever remembered. And he loved his dog...

I met him through my bestie, Kim Grooms. They shared the same wicked sense of humor. Best bass player in my opinion. He introduced me to Primus and Rush. He practiced their bass licks often. Big fan of motocross and Jeremy McGrath. I was always in awe of his Civil War knowledge. I always thought we had more time to get together and hang out. I'm comforted by the thought that Kim and he will be hanging out together and causing mischief.
