I had the pleasure of knowing Jim when he was the bureau chief for TP in East Jefferson. I really liked him and his wry sense of humor. We connected on several levels. Sorry we lost touch when he moved to the coast and I moved away. My sympathy to his family. A good man!

So long, "Boudreaux" (a fictional character Jim sometimes used in his columns). I wish the wish of so many ... that we had kept in touch over the years.

Hearing of Jim's death was such a loss for our family. He first hired a young woman as a reporter in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and hired her again in Odessa,Texas. Also in Texas he hired an inexperienced photographer to run the photo dept. The two fell in love, got married and Jim was the best man. We have never forgotten our time together. We both owe our careers to Jim. May God show Jim the light of His heaven and comfort his family. Dennis and Liz.

Oh Babs, I am so so sorry. God he will be missed! So grateful for your friendships for the last 60 years. He was so unique, smart, fun to be with and dear. My prayers are with you and Jason and his boys- how blessed they all are to have had him in their lives. Awfully glad I made the effort to come to the last reunion and got to spend time with you both. Love Joanne Burch
