James William Wheeler passed away peacefully in Tucson, Arizona on September 22, 2017 at the age of 80.
James is survived by his wife Virginia; sons, William, James and Peter; daughters, Kimberly and Milene; as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren, of Tucson Arizona. He was preceded in death by his father, William Wheeler; his mother, Florence Wheeler; and his sister, Billie Lynn Donohue, of Tucson Arizona.
James was born on February 28, 1937, in Scottdale, Pennsylvania, to William and Florence Wheeler. He graduated from Scottdale High School in 1956. He married Virginia on January 16, 1965. He served twenty-two years in the United States Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 1977.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 15950 North Luckett Road, Marana, AZ, with a reception following. All are welcome to attend and celebrate James’ life. In lieu of flowers please donate to Disabled American Veterans or St. Jude charities.
